About
I am interested in just about everything. Politics, race, religion, sexuality, food, relationships, pop culture, books, media, technology, science, cute animals, bodily functions, and more. I value communication and learning above most other things: not people talking at one another, but people listening, explaining, and arriving at a new understanding, respect, or even a solution. This is my main goal with my blog. Additionally, I have incredibly talented friends, so I also use this blog to showcase them and their stuff whenever I can.
I prefer not to identify myself with any political party, but my views on politics, religion, and social issues are often explained in my posts. I hail from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a 2006 B.A. in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I currently reside in Madrid, Spain, working as a North American Language and Culture Assistant at a bilingual primary school. I’m hoping to pursue graduate work in sociology when my tenure here in Spain is over, whenever that is.
The current image header (eyeballs) is a picture I took of an old pharmacy’s window display in Granada, Spain.
See my Blogroll for a list of some of my favorite blogs and sites. Also see the Recommended Reading page for a regularly updated list of books I think everyone should read.
